This morning I awoke to my 7 year old standing above me asking if he could play “Candy Crush” on my iPad.  After 5-7 seconds of disbelief that he would even ask, I said, “Let me check what’s going on in the world for 30 seconds first, THEN you can have it.”  Well I’m glad he woke me up because I immediately came across a stunning print by Juan Hugo Martinez for “Elysium.”  (I have since given my son the iPad and moved on to my computer to share Juan’s awesomeness!)

ELYSIUM IDEADWe first shared a fan art piece for the film by artist Matt Ferguson and now Juan Hugo Martinez has taken a shot at it and the result is pretty fantastic.  I reached out to Juan about this print and some other stuff and this is what he had to say.

This piece is exceptional Juan, can you tell us why you created it, what inspired you?  I am glad you liked! I created this piece because I’m just excited about Elysium, I love science fiction film’s. I loved District 9 when it first came out, and when I heard about Elysium a couple months back I was more than excited. The more I thought about it the more I felt I needed to create something that expressed my excitement.

Well it’s phenomenal, congrats.  Will it be available for fans to purchase?  If people wish to own this piece they can go to  SOCIETY 6 and get it NOW!

I’d be remise if I didn’t ask but what do you have on the horizon?  As for the projects I have my sights on right now, the spectrum is  pretty broad , I am interested in a lot of films coming up soon! Thor is one of them. I am working on projects for the The Hero Complex Gallery and excited to work on scheduled projects for the Poster Posse. I will share a “Breaking Bad” piece this week and I’m still working on little things. I just want to say in advance thank you to fan’s that take the time to look at my work, and  enjoy my piece or any of my other work, and stay tuned for more new work coming soon.

Huge thanks to Juan for taking the time to fill us in on a few things.  Head on over to Society 6 HERE  to pick up this fantastic print for Elysium.  I strongly suggest you follow Juan via the following links to keep up with everything he has coming up.  Given the strength of his portfolio, the future is extremely bright for this gifted artist.
